Beginning June 1, 2024, window coverings sold in the United States must follow the new safety standard. Most products will convert to cordless styles. Treatments with a continuous loop must include a compliant tension device to keep the loop from becoming a strangulation risk. These requirements will greatly decrease the possibility of window treatment cord injuries and deaths among young children.
